This week has been an eventful week…a lot going on at work, friends facing different journeys, personal things. Through it, one Bible verse stood out in particular:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good1 and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
God does not say that he’ll ever necessarily tell you what that plan is or what the definition of prosperity is, but he promises good, a future, and hope. Faith is just that…it’s knowing that HIS definition of good and prosperity is sufficient, and to not let drought, famine, captivity, exile, or banishment (think about it – those are definitely worse situations than most of us will ever face) will keep him from insuring that the plan is fulfilled.
1In the NIV, this reads “prosper” which has a slightly different interpretability but still the same emphasis.
